Okay so Friday the 5, I was cleaning the kids rooms and all of a sudden......I got a pain in my butt. Yep that's right, in my butt. Do you think that maybe it was because I was cleaning the bedroom's of my dear sweet children? Anyway the pain did not stop there, it traveled down my leg and into my feet, and now I have not felt my big toe and it's surrounding area for almost 2 weeks! So after many attempts to the chiropractor, I decided to go to my primary care dr. He is now sending me for a cat scan (no MRI-Pacemaker) with and without contrast. I am also going to a pain management doctor and a neurologist. I have to have some kind of nerve scan. FUN FOR ME!!!!!! I know that you are all jealous, because I got to spend a week in bed on loratab and muscle relaxers. As of now, my Christmas tree is not decorated, there are Christmas bins in my living room, my shopping is not done, and my cards have yet to be sent out and the big day is next week. Oh, and we are leaving town on Wednesday. Na, I not stressed or worried. I'm taking pain killers. So if any of you see me around this week and I look like a character from Fraggel Rock, you will know why. I think that this is just one more pain in the butt that I can blame on the kids. But, at night when they are asleep and are peaceful...just for those few moments before you go to sleep...kinda makes it all worth it.
Moral of the story....Cleaning your kids room can cause a pain in the butt!
p.s. if your Christmas cards are late, I am blaming it on the loratab!

Happy Birthday Lil Cubby..

On October 10 was Bryce's 6th birthday. He was so excited. He got a Backugon game, Pokeman Wii game, Pokeman shirt, Madden 08 for the Wii, a jacket, and some money. We then ended the day with a trip to Peter Piper Pizza for some games and pizza with the Van Wagoners. He had a great time. We are so lucky to have Bryce in our lives. He makes us so happy. Bryce always tells us how he loves everybody. When bryce was born my mom always said how he looked like a bear cub. Bryce, we love you so much and you bring so much joy to our lives.

I'm such a SLACKER......
I have not been working since school started. All of our projects were shut down. So I thought great, I will stay home, clean my house, keep up on my blog, and get organized and skinny. Needless to say that has not happened, but I do go to the gym in the mornings. I know that I need to update and at least put pics up from the Temple and I promise they will be here soon, but I need my photographer to take off about 30lbs off me. So anyhow, bare with me and I hope to get stuff up soon. Love to you all!!!

First Day of School.

Well, our first week of school went off great. Shayna started 2nd grade, and she really seems to like it. Bryce started all day kindergarten, he did okay, his teacher said that he seems to be having a hard time adjusting. In other words listening. It is so nice this year to have my kids on the same track, last year they were on different tracks, and it's the pits. Hopefully, they will have a great year and learn a lot. Can you believe the outfit that Shayna is wearing, I swear I had a couple of those growing up, at least it's not a unit. LOL

Seven Peaks
Every summer we go to Seven Peaks for a small family reunion. This year we invited Dewey's family. We had a GREAT time as usual. I enjoyed hanging out at the family cabana (I am a whimp I thought the water was too cold) while the rest of the family rode the slides, wave pool, and the lazy river. For some reason my kids decided to become dare devils and go down the big free fall slides. These slides are over 100 feet tall. For those of you who don't know, they get that from their dad..I am a chicken. I've posted a slide show of pictures from the trip. If you are ever looking for a nice water park to go to I recommend Seven Peaks. We had a lot of fun.

Last Day of School...

I know it's a month late, but Bryce graduated from the Early Childhood Learning program through the Clark County School District. We are so excited for him. I cannot believe that my baby is now going to be in Kindergarten next year. However, he will be attending all day and I am very excited for that. I just wanted to let Bryce know that we are so proud of him and love him very much!!

Goodbye old Friend.

Two weeks ago tomorrow our beloved dog Zeus passed away. He was a great dog and a joy to have in our family. He had been sick of a couple of months and after getting arthritis and spinal nerve damage, he ended up blind. It was very hard to watch him get sicker and sicker. We were going to put him down, but we came home and found that he had passed away. He was a great dog to have and the kids enjoyed him. he will be terribly missed.

Swim Time....

Living here in Las Vegas has it's pro's and con's. We are very lucky to have some great friends that have a pool at there home. Shane has always bugged me that he wants a pool and I tell him to go swimming at Gil and Julie's. Well, a couple of weeks ago we went swimming at Gil and Julie's and had a great time. My kids have not slept that good in a long time. They love to go swimming and do cannonballs. Gil and Julie are the greatest and never care that we come and swim. They are my kids "Vegas Grandparents"!! Thanks Gil and Julie for your love and friendship!! We love you!! (This is defiantly a pro!)

Twilight the Movie

Sometimes.....
Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed. I felt that I never have anything exciting to post. My kids are at school and the babysitter and then I am at work. Monday is family home evening, Tuesday and Thursday is soccer practice, Wednesday Shane has Young Mens/Scouts, Saturday we have soccer games and grocery shopping, Friday and Sunday we are lazy. I feel that I never have time to clean my house or do things that I really want to do. I do get my reading in but that is because I have a hard time sleeping at night and then I am tired when I get home from work the next day. This is such a viscous never ending cycle. It absolutely drives me NUTS!!! If anybody has any suggestions for my overwhelming let please advise.
Now for some better news, Shane and I have made our appointment for the Temple. We are receiving our Endowment on September 3rd at the 6pm session and our Sealing is on the 4th at 6 pm. September 4th is our 9 year wedding anniversary.
So now that I have shared our good news and my overwhelming stress, I will go to bed tonight and say my prayers and thank the Lord and my Savior for all the many blessings that I have. They are without number. I will also remind myself that I am a daughter of God and I may not be able to do everything, but I have a Father in Heaven and Older Brother that loves me. Because with God nothing is impossible.

I thought this was great.....Thanks Annette!!
For those of you who have been watching the news and may have wondered....
Some Mormon women sing...
Some Mormon women dance...
Some Mormon women write scary stories...

I know hundreds of Mormon women.
They do all kinds of different things and live all different kinds of lives.
None of the Mormon women I know look like this...

None of them are marrying off their teenage daughters and-- although some may joke about wanting a sister-wife (preferably one who is really fat & ugly, does bathrooms and changes diapers)--none of them really want to share their husband with anyone.
Some Mormon guys can throw a ball...

Some Mormon guys yell at the ball...

Some Mormon guys make scary movies...

Some Mormon guys have a lot of money and really great hair...

I know hundreds of Mormon guys. They do all kinds of different things and live all kinds of different lives.

This is one of the leaders of the Mormon church. Last Sunday he spoke about honoring women, especially mothers, and gave advice to husbands and children about how to treat the women in their lives.
None of the Mormon men I know look like this...

The Mormon men I know are honest and hard-working. They don't cheat, smoke, drink or gamble. And TRUST ME....the last thing any of them want is another wife.

I can't wait...

I love to read. I am so excited for May, there is 2 books that I am anxiously waiting for. The first one is the "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer, who is a great author and the other is the 5th book in the series "The Great and Terrible" by Chris Stewart. So beside family and everything else I am going to be busy in May reading. It'll be good since Shane just got called as assistand Scout Master and I believe they are going to Catalina Island very soon, probaly after school gets out. I am also in charge of a group that will being going to St. George in August to the Tuacahn to see Les Mes. I am very excited about that, however Shane is not thirlled, but I think that he will enjoy it.
This weekend we had soccer games. Shayna's team won 4-0, there record is now 3-1. Bryce scored 6 goals and played very well. In the age goup that Bryce plays in, they don't keep score. We are just happy that the team all stay's on the field and that they are not chasing butterfiles and/or crying. I took my camera to the games but by batteries died before I could take a picture. That's my luck.
Shayna went to her Primary teachers house after soccer to make cookies. Her Primary teacher has two sons that are in the service and are stationed in Japan. So they made cookies to send to the soliders. She had a great time. While Shayna was there we took Bryce to the mall to get some new glasses. He has broke 3 pairs this year and he has having to wear his soccer goggles. I need to go back to work for the Eye Dr........Nah I don't think so.
So this is the completion to our exciting week. My Mom and Grandma are coming in 2 weeks and I am SOOOOO excited to see them.

Here we go...
Well I must say that my sister inspired me to do this and it seem fun to share our families lives with you. This is going to be an exciting year for us here at the Thompson household. Shane and I are planning on going to the Temple on September 4th and we are VERY excited. To have my children with me forever is so exciting. (I guess I will take Shane with me also). I don't write in a journal so I thought I could do an online journal. Thank you for being such important friends and families in our lives. Love to all of you.....
